Tech Support FAQ
Question:
How do I email a WebPipe?
Answer:
Click email pipe in the webpipes menu in SidePipe. This will
automatically launch your email application and create a new email with the
link to your WebTour already written. If for some reason your email program
is not launching, you can work around it by clicking view pipe which
will launch the WebPipe on your system. Then you can copy/paste the URL address
from the browser window into your email program.
Question:
How do I keep the SidePipe client in sync with my browser window?
Answer:
To avoid confusion if you have multiple browser windows open, only one SidePipe
client is open at a time. The rule for synchronization is very simple: SidePipe
is always synched to the web page that you were viewing when you clicked the
SidePipe button. If you launch the SidePipe client on a page, then change
the underlying page, SidePipe won't know it until you click the SidePipe button
again to update it. So, always remember to click the SidePipe button on the
browser when you switch web pages and want to add the new page to a WebPipe.
Question:
How do I put a link to a WebPipe on my website?
Answer:
Just launch the WebPipe, and copy the URL from your browser. You can then put that on
your website by itself or inside of an href tag.
Question:
Can just anybody see my WebPipes that I have created?
Answer:
NO! Each WebPipe has an unique URL address that is protected by a key. The
only people who can view your WebPipe are those to whom you have emailed the link. Of course,
you could put the link onto a webpage, in which case anyone who clicks on it will launch it.
Question:
How do I contact Technical Support?
Answer:
Just send us an email: support@sidepipe.com
Question:
I love SidePipe, but I spend so much time making WebPipes that my wife is ready to divorce me.
She has respectfully requested that I remove SidePipe. How do I do it?
Answer:
Easy! SidePipe has a built-in uninstaller. Just click on the Windows "Start" button, then select "Settings" which will bring
up the Control Panel. Double-click on Add/Remove Programs and select "SidePipe", then click the Add/Remove button. Note: Please close all Explorer windows prior to doing this. Any open browser windows will still have the SidePipe button, but new windows will not!
